MoD research scientist. Five years in the software industry. Chair at York since 1987. Head of Department of Computer Science: 2006-2012 & 2016-2017. Director of Assuring Autonomy International Programme (AAIP), 2018-2023. Director Centre for Assuring Autonomy, and Lloyd's Register Foundation Chair in Safety, 2024-date.
