Interests

My background is from Software Engineering, mainly Software Testing. In my PhD project, I also used some techniques in Natural Language Processing, web scraping, ontology, etc.

The title of my PhD thesis is User Review Analysis for Requirement Elicitation. It is a novel framework I developed with Natural Language Processing techniques driven by linguistic rules under the context of requirement elicitation. Driven by well managed linguistic rules, this framework can yield very good performance, and let you have control over the details of the whole data flow. The computation cost is very low, which was done in an ordinary computer. I am very keen to have opportunities to develop this framework further, which could serve research communities and industries in all walks of life in the future. You can find my thesis and the complete source code from Thesis and source code DOI.

Qualifications

I got my PhD degree in Computing and Mathematics from Oxford Brookes University in June 2020. I completed an MSc in computing from Oxford Brookes University in 2015, an MSc in computer application technology from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2004, and a BEng in internal combustion engine from Harbin Institute of Technology in 1996.

I became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in July 2024.

Career

I joined the University of York as an Associate Lecturer of the online master program at the Department of Computer Science in June 2021, and started my Lecturer position in October 2024. Prior to that, I worked part time as an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University from September 2016.
