Responsibilities

My support assistant roles includes me:
Checking around 240 students PCs on a weekly basis to ensure each PC is kept in good working condition this involves me checking both Windows to which I have to log on to and Linux - ensuring no problems arise between the rebooting processes. And, that the keyboard and mouse work fine.
During the university vacation periods I go around and clean the screens, keyboards and mice in the student's software labs.
I am the printer/super user of the printers within the department and a member of the university printer super user team. I have to respond to printer issues within the department when notified either by e-mail or verbal. To report through any ongoing issues or issues that I am unable to fix through to the onsite engineer. I also have to replace the toner cartridges within the printers and also have to restock the printers with paper when required. I also have to check on a weekly basis the paper store cupboards beside each printer to ensure they are fully stocked with paper.
I also look after the departmental stationery store which involves doing regular checks, restocking it when required. Also purchasing stationery through the university ordering system. Dealing with special stationery requests from members of the department. Also getting in members of staff requests for diaries,ordering them and delivering them.

Qualifications

5 GSCE
European computer driving licence
RSA Level one in Business administrator

Career

After finishing school in 1994 I did the RSA Level one course in business administrator. This included working at Coscutter head office to where I was a office junior. Attending the centre in York one day a week to do the RSA Level one in Business administrator course.
I moved on to the Computer Science Department at the University of York, to firstly complete the RSA Level one in Business administrator course. I have being a member of staff at the Computer Science department team ever since.
