Title:

Particle Swarm Optimization to Solve Optimization Problems

Authors:

Gregorio Toscano-Pulido

Abstract:

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a relatively recent biologically-inspired heuristic that has been found to be very successful in a wide variety of optimization tasks. Our work addresses two main issues that have been scarcely dealt with in the specialized literature: constraint-handling (for global optimization) and multiobjective optimization. Our results, summarized in this paper, indicate the high viability of PSO for both single and multiobjective optimization.
